State Department Claims Russian Tanks in Ukraine

Seems like it was only yesterday when we wrote about Secretary of State John Kerry's bold public statements on Russian involvement in eastern Ukraine, and then his private pleas to the new Ukrainian president for some evidence -- anything, please! -- to back up his publicly confident claims.

This follows earlier bold claims of photographic proof of Russian involvement that the regime-serving New York Times dutifully reprinted, but then had to shamefully retract after it proved to be yet another State Department deception.

Well they are at it again! And again with no proof.

Today the State Department spokesperson boldly claimed that the Russians had sent in to eastern Ukraine a "column of three T-64 tanks, several BM-21 'Grad' multiple rocket launchers, and other military vehicles..."

Fall of Saigon Moment for US Embassy Baghdad?

As Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) forces continue to move ever closer Baghdad, the possibility increases of the billion dollar, Vatican City-sized, US Embassy compound being over-run by al-Qaeda linked Islamists.

The Obama regime ponders drone strikes and the deployment of more US weapons to its allies in Iraq, the Maliki government. The government of Iran -- also on Maliki's side -- is said to have deployed Revolutionary Guard forces into Iraq to help out.

Ironic that the US may well be fighting with Iranian forces against the same ISIS forces that it has been supporting in Syria to overthrow Assad.

Iraq to US: 'Please Bomb Us Again'; Obama: 'OK'

As the radical Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) continues its march through the US-trained Iraqi army like a knife through butter in the Baghdad sun, the US-backed Maliki government is looking its collapse square in the eyes.

What to do? Ask Washington for Gulf War III! So that is exactly what Baghdad did, requesting US airstrikes on Iraqi territory to fight back the ISIS. Obama, for his part, has made it clear that "all options are on the table."

Nowhere in recent memory has the absurdity and counter-productivity of interventionism been so apparent as in these recent dramatic developments in Iraq. The same ISIS that is laying siege to Iraq is the same ISIS whose base in Syria has been so bolstered by US shipments of weapons to the Syrian rebels. In other words, ISIS has used Washington's support in Syria to attack Washington-backed Iraq.

John Kerry Caught in Lie to Promote War With Russia

We all remember Secretary of State John Kerry lying through this teeth last summer, when he swore that US intelligence reports proving that Syria used chemical weapons in Ghouta were “as clear as they are compelling.” However, the US administration never provided any proof of Syria government responsibility and now we know why: there was none

Kerry was all bluster and bluff, and when that became obvious his boss was forced to back down from plans to bomb Syria.

Well Kerry is back at it again. Bluster and bluff about "proof" while simultaneously desperately seeking evidence.

Washington Post At War With Reality on Ukraine

Anyone reading the Washington Post's coverage of Ukraine and Russia over the past several months knows well that when it comes to fealty to the regime, the Post makes the USSR's Pravda look like a samizdat. As long as the US administration has Russia in its sights, the Post is panting like a dog in D.C.'s summer sun.

Editorial Page Editor Fred Hiatt and his sidekick Jackson Diehl are the neocon dynamic duo who keep the hate flowing, and nothing is too sensational for its appearance as gospel on Fred's page. Fred and Jackson, as Consortium News points out, are the same guys who solemnly assured us in 2002-2003 that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.

In normal jobs, people get fired for being incompetent, for constantly getting it wrong. Not Washington Post propagandists.

Ron Paul on 'The Strange Case of Bowe Bergdahl'

The current debate over whether Pvt. Bowe Bergdahl, recently swapped for five Guantanamo detainees, was a traitor or hero obscured what should be the real debate of our foreign policy, Ron Paul told Charles Goyette in his weekly podcast today. Many on the pro-war side wanted at first to make him out to be a hero because he was a veteran, and to deny that the veterans who fought in Afghanistan were all heroes might be to suggest that all the war dead died in vain.

But then it got rather complicated when it was discovered that Bergdahl developed second thoughts about the war in Afghanistan and may have even deserted his unit. Then the neocons began screaming for his blood -- and for Obama's impeachment for trading him for the imprisoned Taliban members.

Obama and Cameron Issue Putin an Ultimatum

President Obama met with British Prime Minister David Cameron today in Brussels, where the two leaders issued an ultimatum to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader would have just one month to meet their demands or face deeper "structural" sanctions against Russia.

The three demands issued by Obama and Cameron include:

1) recognize Petro Poroshenko's election as the new leader in Kiev,
2) stop arms from crossing the border; and,
3) cease support for pro-Russian separatist groups concentrated in eastern Ukraine.

The tough talk in Brussels took place in advance of a G7 meeting originally scheduled to be held in Sochi, Russia, and include the Russian president. However after the unrest in Ukraine, which the US and EU blame on Russia, the G7 leaders moved the venue to Belgium and uninvited Putin.

Obama Declares 'Holy War' in Poland

This week President Obama traveled to eastern Europe with one billion dollars in his pocket. He plans to use it to finance more NATO military exercises on Russia's border and to rotate more US troops into Poland and other new NATO member countries. Yes, the same countries who have decided NATO is their best big stick with which to beat back the Soviet Union.

Never mind that there has been no Soviet Union for more than 20 years. Poland and the Baltics finally have the chance to extract their pound of flesh and they are looking to Washington dollars and Washington bullets to back up their tough talk.

Sorry Obama, America is With Ron Paul

President Obama on Wednesday delivered one of the most bellicose foreign policy speeches of his presidency.

Promising more, not less, US interventionism overseas, the president told the graduates of the US Military Academy at West Point:
[T]he question each of you will face, is not whether America will lead but how we will lead, not just to secure our peace and prosperity but also extend peace and prosperity around the globe.
Translation: US will continue to use force overseas to remake the world in the neocon and "humanitarian" interventionists' image. But, considering the results of each and every intervention over the past 14 years, where is the "peace and prosperity" he promises. Afghanistan? Iraq? Libya? Syria? Ukraine? Mali?

Is anyone vacationing in a newly peaceful and prosperous Tripoli this summer?
