Obama to Secretly Arm Kiev?

Even as a shaky ceasefire holds in east Ukraine between pro-independence and US-backed government forces from Kiev, details begin to emerge of secret agreements made on the margins of last week's NATO summit in Wales that will escalate the conflict. 

While NATO as a whole could not agree unanimously (as required) to provide lethal aid to Kiev government forces, individual member governments reportedly signed bilateral agreements to provide such assistance. Which member states agreed to such aid was not made public...until yesterday.

NATO to Ship Weapons to Kiev — But Don't Call it Escalation!

Today in Cardiff, Wales, NATO agreed to provide $15 million to the Ukrainian government for "cyberdefense, logistics, rehabilitating soldiers injured by the rebels, and command, communications and control capabilities." 

The government in Kiev has waged war against several regions in eastern Ukraine that have sought to break away from the west after a US-backed coup in February.

US bombs have been falling on Iraq for several weeks now, and an attack is also planned against Syria. At the NATO summit in Wales this weekend it was agreed to position thousands of troops on Russia's border to be prepared for an attack in a moment's notice.

It seems like it was only yesterday that the US conducted yet another attack on Pakistan...oh wait, it was only yesterday!

Images from Libya today speak more clearly about the folly of US interventionism, US "regime change" operations, US-led bombing campaigns to "promote democracy" than anything else.

Arguing passionately in favor of a US attack on Libya, over the objections of then-Defense Secretary Robert Gates, then-US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice said:

I swore to myself that if I ever faced such a crisis again, I would come down on the side of dramatic action, going down in flames if that was required.

Well she was partly right. Thanks to her successful demands for a US attack, it was Libya that went down in flames.

Russian 'Soldiers Mothers Committees' -- a US Covert Op?

A major component in the latest western government and media claims of a Russian invasion of Ukraine is protests of the various Russian "Soldiers' Mothers Committes" over the supposed disappearance of their soldier sons in Ukraine. Absent compelling visual evidence of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, these NGOs are said to provide the evidence that, as NATO claims, 1,000 young Russians have been forced to go fight in Ukraine.

The US mainstream media has reported extensively over the past several days that these "Soldiers' Mothers Committes" are a smoking gun indicating the Russian government's military intervention in Ukraine.

Islamist Rise and The Fall of Tripoli Airport

Today Islamist fighters of the Fajr Libya (Libyan Dawn) have taken control of the international airport in Tripoli, Libya, after weeks of intense fighting. 

Adding to the chaos in Tripoli, mystery war planes, possibly belonging to former Libyan general Khalifa Haftar, have repeatedly struck at Islamist positions. Haftar is widely suspected of having CIA ties, so his personal army fighting for power in Libya adds a curious dimension to the chaos.

The elected parliament of Libya has been unable to manage these attacks from both sides, pleading with the United Nations earlier this month to intervene and dismantle the various militias fighting for control of the country.

Why are so many of those who call themselves "non-interventionist" suddenly jumping on the "bomb Iraq" bandwagon with the latest dose of US government propaganda about the critical need to "save the Kurds"? Do people really believe the US government is telling the truth this time and, more importantly, that bombs will solve the problem? 

How strange that humanitarian catastrophes of a much larger scale are taking place currently in Syria, Ukraine, Gaza, and elsewhere and the US government is totally silent or even hostile to those who seek to help! Not to mention the half-million Christians already cleansed from Iraq under US occupation. Might it have something to do with oil? Israel? Neocons striking back? Yes, yes, and yes!
