Dennis Kucinich: Bernie Sanders Should Consider Withdrawing His Hillary Clinton Endorsement

undefined

Former Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), who in 2004 and 2008 sought the Democratic presidential nomination, says that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) should consider withdrawing Sanders’ endorsement of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton given new revelations of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) unfair treatment of Sanders in the party’s 2016 presidential nomination contest.

Responding to Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo’s question about his take on the DNC emails made public by Wikileaks, Kucinich says that, taken together with other factors, including the setting of an insufficient debate schedule and the presence of superdelegates, “there are so many things which basically prove that this election was rigged against Bernie Sanders.”

Kucinich further states that he believes Sanders should consider withdrawing the endorsement Sanders has made of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. “[I]t’s not just about [Sanders]; it’s about a movement that he represents which got 46 percent of the votes in the country, and that kind of conduct [by the DNC] was totally dismissive of almost half of the Democratic voters,” Kucinich elaborates. Certainly, a significant number of Sanders’ supporters at the Democratic National Convention this week agree with Kucinich on this suggestion as evidenced by the vocal disapproval expressed when Sanders, in a Monday speech to a large group of his convention supporters, said, “we have got to elect Hillary Clinton.”
