Is David Brooks Pushing For Another Vietnam?

A few years ago, New York Times columnist David Brooks wanted the U.S. government to wave its magic wand and turn the Syrian civil war into a Vietnam for Iran:
We should be trying to turn the Syrian civil war into Iran’s Vietnam. We should make them waste money and effort trying to back their client...I’m thinking that maybe it’s time for a more active U.S. role. I have no clue how to do that.

Brooks was apparently modest enough to admit that he had "no clue" as to how the U.S. should mold Syria to achieve such a nefarious goal.

Iran Deal Causes Neocon Nervous Breakdown

The Iran Deal has thrown neocons into a frenzy.

Mark Kirk says: “This agreement condemns the next generation to cleaning up a nuclear war in the Persian Gulf. Tens of thousands of people in the Middle East are gonna lose their lives because of this decision by Barack Hussein Obama.”

Mark Levin: "Barack Obama has planted the seeds, in my view, for World War III."

Rep. Pete King Wants 'All Out' Surveillance Of Muslims

One would have hoped that after Ron Paul schooled Rudy Giuliani on the concept of “blowback” in front of a national audience, US politicians would have paid attention. Sadly, it was back to foreign interventionism as usual.

Once again, it appears that the latest tragedy in Canada, may be attributed to “blowback.” Here in the U.S., instead of reassessing foreign policy, Rep. Pete King wants to ratchet up surveillance on “Muslims” and “Muslim communities.”

Michele Bachmann Goes Berserk!

Michele Bachmann throws the blanket over all Muslims saying:
Yes, Mr. President, it is about Islam!

And I believe if you have an evil of an order of this magnitude, you take it seriously. You declare war on it, you don’t dance around it. Just like the Islamic State has declared war on the United States of America.

You kill their leader, you kill their councils, you kill their army until they wave the white flag of surrender. That’s how you win a war!

Lieberman: 'Attack Assad AND ISIS!'

Joe Lieberman finds no reason to keep up the facade of the backdoor-to-war with Syria. He flat out said on Face The Nation Sunday: “We should attack Assad and fight ISIS.”

The neocons, who were rebuked by the American public when Obama initially wanted to attack Syria, are back in the saddle. A couple of ISIS YouTube videos and it’s back to war with Assad -- who also happens to be at war with ISIS!

Max Boot Greases The Wheels of Empire

Max Boot lays it on pretty thick here:
America’s brave troopers today fight for freedom in Afghanistan, Iraq and beyond, all the while yearning, as FDR said, “for the end of battle” when they can return home. They are not there to seize natural resources or to pump up a president’s approval ratings–nor, for all of my differences with President Obama, do I believe he has ordered troops into harm’s way for such nefarious purposes.
If that isn’t the exact opposite of truth, I don't know what is.

Krauthammer: Arm The Kurds!

While Senator John McCain is busy calling President Obama a sissy, with his “pinprick” airstrikes in Iraq, his neocon comrade Charles Krauthammer offers up the following idea:
The only thing that will make a difference is boots on the ground. Kurdish boots! Nobody’s asking for Americans. Just fly in the weapons!

Rubin & Rubio Try To Keep Conservatives In Line

Panic time for neocons! Another poll has been released showing American disdain for the sprawling US military empire. This time Politico hands a piece of kryptonite to the warmongers. An incredible two out of three Americans want the US to stay out of foreign conflicts that are not a direct threat to US national security.

Jennifer Rubin the hectoring commissar is surely not happy. She trots out a quote from neocon Senator Marco Rubio to quell any conservative doubters that may come into contact with libertarian non-interventionists...

Michael Ledeen: A Deal With Iran Is Not Enough

If you’re a non-interventionist, neocon Michael Ledeen has some news for you. Don’t get too excited about a nuclear deal with Iran:
First, our problems with Iran go way beyond the nuclear deal. If we could wave a magic wand and cause the entire nuclear project to disappear, we would still have to contend with a radical Islamist regime that has declared war on us, and is waging it from the Middle East to South America.
Isn’t that an odd statement?

Iran is waging war on “us” in the Middle East and South America? Since when are the Middle East and South America “us”?
