NATO Aims To Repeat Its Libya 'Success' In Ukraine

As NATO and its US masters edge the US and EU closer to war with Russia over Ukraine, it might be appropriate to have a look at NATO's last "success" story.

Yesterday in Libya, where NATO bombs fell just over three years ago to "liberate" the people from Gaddafi, Islamist militias in Benghazi were under helicopter and warplane attack by a paramilitary force headed by former general Khalifa Haftar. The former general first emerged in Libya back in 2011, having left his long-time home base in the US state of Virginia where his ties to the CIA were an open secret.

Ron Paul: The Ukraine Fuse Has Been Lit

Ron Paul and Charles Goyette discuss the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and a new Senate bill that seeks to push the US to the very brink of war with Russia -- a bill that appropriates $10 billion to push regime change in Russia!

The bill is called the Russian Agression Prevention Act, so, Ron Paul says, you can believe the opposite: it will be US aggression against Russia.

'Free Press'? USAID Increases Funding to Pro-Kiev Media

In the name of a "free and independent media," the US government through its Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced that it will dedicate an additional $1.25 million to subsidize the Ukrainian media in advance of the May 25th presidential election.

Through its multi-year "U-Media" project, USAID has been a major sponsor of the Ukrainian press. It goes without saying that the media outlets and organizations underwritten by the US government in Ukraine adhere closely to the US government's foreign policy position in the country and region. There will be no US government support for alternative media when it favors the government in power.

US Media Covers Up Mass Murder in Odessa

Yesterday in Odessa, Ukraine, more than 30 anti-Kiev protesters were burned alive, as a US-backed pro-Kiev mob set fire to the trade union building into which they ran to escape the pro-Kiev crowd. It was the largest loss of life in Ukraine since the US-backed coup in February, and it may well be a turning point in the east versus west struggle that ensued.

The pictures from the scene were ghastly (warning: graphic), as desperate protesters tried to claw their way out of the building as they were burned alive. Also ghastly were the photos of the young girls happily making the molotov cocktails that were thrown into the building.

Eastern Ukraine is Blowback for Kiev: McAdams on Jay Taylor Show

RPI Director Daniel McAdams is back with Jay Taylor, where they discuss the Bundy ranch raid and showdown, the problems with government-held land, and the potential for real violence to break out in Nevada. They also discuss Ukraine, and how what is happening now in the eastern part of the country is in many ways blowback for US actions supporting the February coup in Kiev. Also, they discuss why newer NATO members are abusing that alliance to strike back at old foes.

Washington's Outrageous Ukraine Double Standards

The Washington foreign policy establishment is furious. Protesters in eastern Ukraine, who feel threatened by the US-backed government in Kiev that has cancelled Russian-language television programming and installed oligarchs to rule over them, have poured out into main squares in many major eastern Ukrainian cities. Some have stormed government buildings and taken control of them. They favor a more federalized Ukraine, where more political decisions are made locally rather than dictated from the unelected rulers in Kiev.

'Foot-in-Mouth' Kerry's Nixonian Blunder

The US and EU appear incapable of distinguishing between action and reaction. The coup they backed in Kiev against the elected government has thrown off the delicate balance in Ukraine and left the pro-Russia eastern portion of the country feeling threatened.

In this situation, the secession of Crimea was a reaction to US and EU action, as is the ongoing unrest in eastern Ukraine, where over the weekend three cities in the Russian-oriented eastern Ukraine declared their desire to break out from under Kiev's thumb.

Now, having lit the fuse of unrest by encouraging and supporting the violent overthrow of the Ukrainian government, these US and EU meddlers are desperately demanding that no explosion take place. They are demanding that none of the eastern parts of Ukraine break away from Kiev's rule and that Ukraine's current borders be untouchable.
