Khorasan Group: Anatomy of Propaganda

Remember the Khorasan Group? It was only three weeks ago, when the Obama Administration was desperate for any kind of legal justification for its plan to begin bombing Syria, that we began hearing about a horrifically dangerous group that was worse than ISIS and was in the final stages of planning an attack on the United States.

Absent a threat from Syria, absent Congressional authorization, absent a UN resolution, any US missile strike on Syria would be illegal, an aggressive move characteristic of a rogue state. If a story line could be crafted that there was an imminent threat to the United States, however, the president would have Constitutional authority to thwart the attempted strike.

Obama's Syrian 'Moderates' Sign Non-Aggression Pact with ISIS

In his address to the nation outlining his strategy to defeat ISIS last week, President Obama made three important points regarding Syria:

1) He would not hesitate to bomb ISIS on Syrian territory even without permission from Syria, a UN resolution, or Conressional authorization.

2) He would not coordinate his attacks on Syrian territory with the Syrian government because, as the State Department claimed, that government has no legitimacy.

Obama and Cameron Issue Putin an Ultimatum

President Obama met with British Prime Minister David Cameron today in Brussels, where the two leaders issued an ultimatum to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader would have just one month to meet their demands or face deeper "structural" sanctions against Russia.

The three demands issued by Obama and Cameron include:

1) recognize Petro Poroshenko's election as the new leader in Kiev,
2) stop arms from crossing the border; and,
3) cease support for pro-Russian separatist groups concentrated in eastern Ukraine.

The tough talk in Brussels took place in advance of a G7 meeting originally scheduled to be held in Sochi, Russia, and include the Russian president. However after the unrest in Ukraine, which the US and EU blame on Russia, the G7 leaders moved the venue to Belgium and uninvited Putin.

Obama Declares 'Holy War' in Poland

This week President Obama traveled to eastern Europe with one billion dollars in his pocket. He plans to use it to finance more NATO military exercises on Russia's border and to rotate more US troops into Poland and other new NATO member countries. Yes, the same countries who have decided NATO is their best big stick with which to beat back the Soviet Union.

Never mind that there has been no Soviet Union for more than 20 years. Poland and the Baltics finally have the chance to extract their pound of flesh and they are looking to Washington dollars and Washington bullets to back up their tough talk.

Obama's War On History

President Obama's speech in Brussels this week was a shocking mélange of ignorance and arrogance masquerading as foreign policy.

Attempting to justify placing the US on war footing with Russia over the recent referendum in Crimea, the president stated:
Kosovo only left Serbia after a referendum was organized not outside the boundaries of international law, but in careful cooperation with the United Nations and with Kosovo’s neighbors. None of that even came close to happening in Crimea.
Of course anyone who followed the Kosovo fiasco knows that never happened. There was no such thing. Made up. The Kosovo parliament declared independence unilaterally backed up by US/NATO military power to ensure the change of borders.

Ron Paul: Rein In Obama or Suffer the Consequences

Speaking with host Neil Cavuto on Fox Business, RPI Chairman and Founder Ron Paul addresses President Barack Obama’s distressing emphasis in the State of the Union Speech on expanding presidential power and using executive orders to bypass the Congress. While Paul grants that presidents for a long time have chosen to “go around the Congress,” he explains that “nobody has been so blatant about this” as has Obama. “If we don’t take fair warning -- we the people as well as the Congress -- to rein in this president, then we’re going to suffer the consequences,” says Paul.
