Judge Andrew Napolitano, speaking on Fox News with Jenna Lee, explains why, “as someone who has harshly and repeatedly criticized the President,” he believes President Barack Obama “is doing the right thing” in granting clemency to potentially hundreds or thousands of people who have been incarcerated for nonviolent drug crimes. read on...
To Ron Paul, the raw milk issue is a matter of personal freedom, and he is very pleased that Rep. Thomas Massie has introduced two bills -- one quite sweeping and the other more incremental -- that would make it easier for individuals to make their own decisions about what kinds of food they would prefer to consume.
As Dr. Paul points out in this free commentary from the Ron Paul Channel, he was at first surprised that the liberals who had supported him on cannabis decriminalization did not support him on raw milk. They thought the government needed to control that particular "dangerous substance." But eventually, he explains, they started coming to his position that one must have the total freedom to choose what to put in one's body. Now there is a broader coalition supporting the right of individuals to consume unpasteurized milk if they wish. read on...

Speaking with Neil Cavuto on Fox Business, Judge Andrew Napolitano predicts that Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) strong reaction to Central Intelligence Agency snooping on the Senate Intelligence Committee she chairs “is a turning point in the relationship between the CIA and the United States Congress.”
This change of heart of “the biggest cheerleader, the strongest supporter, and arguably the most powerful member of Congress in support of the intelligence community,” says RPI Advisory Board Member Napolitano, puts Feinstein on a “collision course” with CIA Director John O. Brennan. read on...
Like the George W. Bush Administration before it that sought to use secret legal memoranda to legitimize heinous treatment of prisoners, the Obama Administration appears to be using questionable and secret legal memoranda in an attempt to justify expanded presidential powers, including the power to use drones for “targeted killings.”

New York City Police Department policeman Adhyl Polanco describes in a Democracy Now report and interview the corrupting and rights abusing quota system for stop-and-frisk, summons, and arrests in the largest local police department in the United States. Among other revelations, Polanco estimates that, but for the improper encouragement of stop-and-frisk by the city government, police department, and police union, about 600,000 of the around 700,000 police initiated stop-and-frisk incidents last year would not have occurred. Polanco adds that some police will arrest "whoever's at the corner" near the end of a work shift to meet the quota plus receive overtime pay.
Polanco proceeds to explain that police are forced to understate actual, reported crimes to ensure the city's crime statistics improve. Proponents of stop-and-frisk can then point to the manipulated crime statistics to support the claim that the stop-and-frisk policy is reducing crime. read on...
As exposed this week in the Toledo Blade, at least 42 members of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association have informed the association that CBP has searched their private airplanes without reasonable suspicion the airplanes were involved in any criminal activity, much less the probable cause and warrant required by the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution. CBP's new activities also seem to be unrelated to the agency's customs and border protection responsibilities given that AOPA notes many of the planes searched never flew near a US border. read on...
The Concord, New Hampshire city council voted tonight to acquire a Lenco BearCat G3 tank. The acquisition passed by a vote of 11 to 4 despite hundreds of people coming to the city council meeting last month in opposition. Public pressure had also caused the Concord police chief to back off his ludicrous claim that he needed the tank to fend off a terrorism threat posed by the Free State Project and Occupy New Hampshire. read on...
On the heels of a court deciding the New York City police department's stop-and-frisk program violates constitutional search and seizure limitations, the Associated Press reports the NYPD has for years engaged in the infiltration of mosques and and the large-scale, dragnet surveillance of Muslims. It appears this Muslim surveillance program, like the stop-and-frisk program, does not require a credible determination of probable cause that the people targeted are engaged in unlawful activities. The AP story begins with the following revelation of the scope of the surveillance program: read on...
