Mother Agnes Mariam: 'Footage of Syria Chemical Attack is a Fraud'

Mother Agnes Mariam el-Salib, mother superior of St. James Monastery in Qara, Syria, told RT today that she has evidence that the video footage currently being shopped around by Sen. Feinstein and the Obama administration as proof that the Syrian president used gas on his own people is a fraud. Part of the problem with the videos is that they were all taken nearly at the same time as the alleged attack itself. How to gather all the bodies in one place and begin videotaping in some cases before the attack had even taken place?

Mother Agnes Mariam is a Catholic nun who has lived and worked in Syria for the past 20 years. She has been particularly outspoken about the atrocities committed by the US-backed Syrian rebels against Christians and other minorities. Her reputation is impeccable, though she is routinely slandered in Western media.

Should Administration's Syria Lies be Revealed to Us?

Two very commendable Members of the House of Representatives over the past week have each made some reference to White House manipulation of intelligence in the classified briefings they are feverishly providing to Members of Congress in an effort to peel off enough of the camp opposed to a US attack on Syria.

Rep. Alan Grayson said in an interview this past week that the intelligence being provided to Members in classified briefings was manipulated and devoid of evidence. Grayson declined to provide examples, explaining that he was constrained from discussing the classified information in the briefings.

Similarly, Rep. Justin Amash Tweeted the other day that "If Americans could read classified docs, they'd be even more against Syria action."

No Evidence? No Problem. Release Youtubes!

As US government whistleblower Thomas Drake Tweeted today, the "US has no evidence in public of scientific samples or intel info proving use of sarin gas or by Syrian gov't."

Reuters reported today that "Direct link between Assad and gas attack elusive for U.S."

In the absense of evidence, what do desperate Capitol Hill warmongers do?

Release Syrian opposition-made Youtube videos to prove the case!

War Propagandists: The Curious Case of Elizabeth O'Bagy

Yesterday we wrote about the Institute for the Study of War's Elizabeth O'Bagy, the Syria "expert" who recently wrote that the CIA assessment that the Syrian opposition was by and large a franchise of al-Qaeda was completely wrong, and in fact they are mostly "moderate" and Western friendly. O'Bagy's article was recommended by Secretary of State Kerry at a recent Hill appearance in an effort to soothe Members' fears about voting for a strike on Syria that would help place extremists in power (like the US did recently in Libya).

O'Bagy got into a bit of trouble, however. As if being considered an expert for the military-industrial-complex supported Institute for the Study of War, whose chairman is arch-neocon William Kristol, is not compromising enough, it turns out O'Bagy's relentless shilling for a military attack on Syria was being bankrolled by her moonlighting employer, the Syrian Emergency Task Force. Working as an undeclared lobbyist for a foreign power pushing a war overseas while posing as an academic expert helpfully presenting Kerry et al with facts to support their policies. Tsk tsk.

Syria's Nayirah Moment: The Lies That Build the Case for War

Followers of the lies that lead us to war will well remember one of the late Congressman Tom Lantos's more sinister (and for Lantos that is saying much) manipulations of US public opinion in favor of war, when he knowingly allowed the daughter of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the US to present false testimony on Oct 10, 1990 to the US congress about Saddam Hussein's military "ripping Kuwaiti babies from incubators" and leaving them to die. The young girl, identified only as Nayirah, posed as a Kuwaiti witness to the Iraqi atrocities, but her entire false performance had been concieved and orchestrated by the US public relations firm Hill & Knowlton to lie the United States into war. It worked.

Don't Miss Buchanan -- 'Just Who's War is This?'

Patrick Buchanan is at his firey and controversial best today with a must-read column on the coming US attack on Syria and those foolishly pushing a war that will surely backfire on its sponsors and on the US.

Here is an excerpt of classic Buchanan, but don't miss the entire article, which you can read today at WND.

Putin: Kerry Lies Beautifully

Russian president Vladimir Putin puts into words what most of the rest of the world is thinking about Obama's mad dash to bomb Syria. Putin, like the rest of us, sees the absurdity in the US regime blatantly breaking international law and overtly violating the Nuremberg Principles prohibiting wars of aggression. The US government seeks to punish the Syrian government for violating "international norms" but in the process is itself breaking international law.

John Kerry Steals Wolfowitz's Iraq Lines for Syria War

Secretary of State John Kerry at the House Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing on Syria war authorization Today
“With respect to Arab countries offering to bear costs...the answer is profoundly yes. They have. That offer is on the table.”
Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, March 23, 2003 on the eve of the Iraq war, before the House Appropriations Committee:
"The oil revenues of that country could bring between $50 and $100 billion over the course of the next two or three years. Now, there are a lot of claims on that money, but ... We are dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction and relatively soon."
