'Humanitarian Interventionist' Convoy Kills Kid in Cameroon

While it would be inappropriate to directly blame US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power for the tragic death of a little boy in Cameroon today, it would also be inappropriate to exculpate the ambassador.

The US Ambassador, who is the embodiment of the "humanitarian" interventionist cult that makes up the Left Wing faction of the Church of Neoconservativism, was speeding in her heavily-armed motorcade through the Cameroonian countryside at speeds over 60 miles per hour to make it to a photo-op with a group of victims of the Islamist Boko Haram organization.

Saudi Arabia Threatens United States: Will Dump US Treasury Holdings, If Congress Passes 9-11 Bill

Saudi Arabia has told the Obama administration and members of Congress that it will sell off hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of American assets held by the kingdom if Congress passes a bill that would allow the Saudi government to be held responsible in American courts for any role in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, reports NYT.

According to NYT, Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi foreign minister, delivered the kingdom’s message personally last month during a trip to Washington, telling lawmakers that Saudi Arabia would be forced to sell up to $750 billion in treasury securities and other assets in the United States before they could be in danger of being frozen by American courts.

US Troops Near Russia's Border with Daniel McAdams

What's going on with the big US troop increase in central and eastern Europe? Are thousands more US troops on Russia's border an aggressive act, or do they serve to deter Russian aggression? Is there any rational basis for this new Cold War beyond further enriching the military-industrial complex? RPI Director Daniel McAdams joins Wake-Up Call Podcast host Adam Camac to discuss US/Russia relations...

Syria Elects a Parliament and the Tiger Man Will Lead at Aleppo City

According to news report Major General (not colonel) Suhail al-Hassan will be the overall coordinating commander in the reduction of the rebel held piece of Aleppo city. The Russian staff advisers are further reported to have played a key role in the selection (presumably by the president) of the commander of the Tiger Forces armored brigade. Bravo!  Always reinforce success and he is successful as hell. I presume that is he in the picture with radios hung all over his field gear. He should get on with this task. Not even the Borgist mainstream media will be able to ignore government capture of the rest of Aleppo. By the way, those look like real soldiers to me. I have seen many such and am a harsh judge of men at arms.

Criminal: Former US State Department Official to Buy Ukraine's Largest Telecom Company

This is just about as insane and open of an inside look, as to how US empire operators grab the spoils of their interventions that result in turmoil, that you are ever likely to get.

As is clear, the US played an important role in the Ukrainian revolution as revealed by the release of a recording of a phone call between Assistant US Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and US Ambassador to the Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt (SEE: An Important Second Listen to the "F--k the EU" Ukraine Recording).

But, Nuland isn't the only US State Department official playing a major role in Ukraine.

RPI To Storm Washington? We're Almost There!

Anyone following our work at the Ron Paul Institute who is not yet a subscriber to our updates (you really oughta subscribe!) may not have heard the latest on our planned foreign policy conference in Washington, D.C. for sometime in the early summer. In a blog post last week, we asked whether a few generous donors would like to join a Host Committee to help us put on the event and we estimated that a minimum of $5,000 would be required to put on the event and make sure it is to be properly record for the wider audience.

The response has been really great! Several of our long-time supporters -- and some new ones -- have told us they definitely want to be among the major sponsors of the event, and it looks like we are right around the minimum level we need to move ahead into the concrete planning stage. Because at this point we are only asking for pledges, however, we would like to keep the invitation to join the Host Committee open for a couple more members in case a pledge or two does not come through.

Ron Paul’s Answer to the Question ‘What Should I Do?’

Speaking with host Marc Clair on the Lions of Liberty Podcast this week, Ron Paul Institute Chairman Ron Paul answered the question he says he has been asked many times by people on university campuses: “What should I do?” In other words, what should an individual do to advance ideas Paul seeks to advance, such as respect of liberty at home and pursuit of a noninterventionist foreign policy?

Paul answers this question with a focus on not dictating to people a particular course they should take. Instead Paul answers “to each his own.” Yet, Paul also opines that there is a “moral responsibility” for someone who has discovered libertarianism to take action to advance “the cause of liberty” and mentions some examples of productive and creative activities people can pursue to advance that cause.
