Clinton Admits That It Is 'Fair' To Question Her Truthfulness But Then Denies That The FBI Found That Any Of Her Emails Were Classified

Hillary Clinton admitted this Sunday that it is “fair” for voters to have questions about her truthfulness. However, she then proceeded to make the very type of statement that has undermined her credibility with voters. Despite the express statement of the FBI that her emails contained clearly classified information, including some with classified markings, Clinton insisted that there was no such finding and seemed to deflect blame for her conduct to subordinates. The Washington Post gave Clinton “Four Pinnochios” for her interview on truthfulness and the email scandal. Clearly, Clinton is right that there is “work to do” on the truthfulness thing.

The FBI was scathing in its view of Clinton’s decision to use an unsecure personal server for her communications as Secretary of State — a decision that clearly came from her and not her subordinates who raised objections. Despite her decision not to use the expensive, secured system at the State Department, Clinton insisted in her Fox interview that “I take classification seriously.”

Breaking: US Airstrikes Hit Libya to Bolster UN-Created Government

The Pentagon has announced today that the US has begun conducting military airstrikes against Libya with the stated intent of defeating ISIS in that country. According to the Pentagon spokesman, the Libyan "Government of National Accord" requested that the US begin airstrikes against what they claim is an ISIS stronghold in Sirte, the birthplace of murdered Libyan leader Muamar Gaddafi.

Pentagon Spokesman Peter Cook has indicated that this is the beginning of a more sustained US air campaign against Libya and that each US airstrike is approved by the US Africa Command (AFRICOM).

Hillary to Deliver Syria to Jihadists?

According to Hillary Clinton's foreign policy advisor, Jeremy Bash, if Clinton is elected she will order a "re-set" of US policy toward Syria to emphasize the "murderous" nature of the Assad regime. As the Telegraph reports, Hillary Clinton will breathe new life into the "Assad must go" camp. She will likely launch a full-scale US invasion of Syria.

Said Bash:
A Clinton administration will not shrink from making clear to the world exactly what the Assad regime is. It is a murderous regime that violates human rights; that has violated international law; used chemical weapons against his own people; has killed hundreds of thousands of people, including tens of thousands of children.
Of course claims that he has used chemical weapons on his own people is the long since disproven neocon cri de guerre to push Obama into an attack on the Syrian government. The 2013 gas attack near Ghouta was likely a provocation by the rebels hoping to draw the US directly into their fight.

The Disposable Veterans

The obituary says he “lost his battle with PTSD.” He lost his battle for freedom and a quality life once he signed up to be used as cannon fodder for the US Government.

Dennis Kucinich: Bernie Sanders Should Consider Withdrawing His Hillary Clinton Endorsement

undefined

Former Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), who in 2004 and 2008 sought the Democratic presidential nomination, says that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) should consider withdrawing Sanders’ endorsement of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton given new revelations of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) unfair treatment of Sanders in the party’s 2016 presidential nomination contest.

Boos and Jeers from Home State Delegation Greet Debbie Wasserman Schultz

It was a rowdy scene at the Democratic National Convention this morning when Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) addressed her home state of Florida’s delegation to the convention. Wasserman Schultz over the weekend announced her resignation as chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) after DNC emails made public by Wikileaks confirmed what many people had already suspected — high level leadership in the Democratic Party sought to help Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) win the Democratic nomination in her close contest against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

If Wasserman Schultz thought she would find forgiveness and a warm welcome from her home state delegation, that hope was quickly dashed when, along with applause, loud boos and jeers greeted her.

Like the F-35, US Latest and Most Expensive Aircraft Carrier Doesn't Work

Why does the US spend more on its military than the next largest several countries combined? One reason is that the military budget has far less to do with protecting the United States than it does to further enriching well-connected military contractors. Politicians are under pressure to push weapons systems, that in turn produce "jobs" for their districts. Remember, the disastrous F-35 fighter is built in 45 states and several foreign countries. This doesn't happen by accident.

As former Pentagon analyst and keen observer Chuck Spinney points out, when it comes to the military budget, it's all about enormously expensive high-tech weapons systems that don't usually work. Little things like readiness and force strength take a back-seat. High-tech pays off well, with shiny things and bells and whistles impressing those who sign off on big contracts. Actually giving troops useful tools to win wars is much less exciting (and profitable).
