Through the Looking Glass: Jared Kushner, the Russians and the Leaks

Welcome to Trump World.

According to the Washington Post:
Jared Kushner and Russia’s ambassador to Washington discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team and the Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent move to shield their pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring, according to U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports.

Ambassador Sergey Kislyak reported to his superiors in Moscow that Kushner, son-in-law and confidant to then-President-elect Trump, made the proposal during a meeting on Dec. 1 or 2 at Trump Tower, according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by U.S. officials. Kislyak said Kushner suggested using Russian diplomatic facilities in the United States for the communications.

The meeting also was attended by Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser.

Mainstream media is giving this report major play as though a United States president has never used a back-channel before, which of course is absurd. Donna Brazile, who leaked debate questions to Hillary Clinton, got in on the act and tweeted #ProtectOurDemocracy.

Judge Napolitano: FBI Tricked Hillary

The FBI set up a trap for Hillary Clinton during their questioning of her and she fell right into it, according to Judge Andrew Napolitano.

Judge Napolitano appeared yesterday morning on the Don Imus Show on WABC radio and told Imus that at one point early in their questioning of her they lied to her. He said that, under law, they are allowed to do so and did so to set a trap.

The Real Adam Dick Fights For Liberty

I have to admit, the first time I saw an Adam Dick essay at ronpaulinstitute.org, it was so solid  I thought that Ron Paul Institute executive director Daniel McAdams had written the piece under a pen name.

It was that good.

The only difference was that it was about a broad-based libertarian theme, rather than having a focus on foreign policy, which is McAdam's specialty.

Wow, I thought to myself, watch for Adam Dick columns, this is when McAdams is going to really let it rip on broad-based libertarian topics.

Well, as it turns out, there really is an Adam Dick and his writings are nothing short of intellectual beheadings of anti-freedom advocates and ideas.

What the Istanbul Attack Reveals

Imagine my surprise. The government solution to prevent attacks at airports has done nothing but moved the point at airports where crowds gather---that is, it just movies the location of the optimum soft target for terrorists.

Also, of note, but not mentioned in this video about the incident, the airport terrorists in the Istanbul attack entered and attacked through the exit gates where passengers leave the airport. This area was less protected versus the arrival area.

As horrific as these attacks are, in the grand scheme of things the casualties from the attacks are not significant in number. More people die in the United States each year from falling out of bed.

Saudi Arabia Threatens United States: Will Dump US Treasury Holdings, If Congress Passes 9-11 Bill

Saudi Arabia has told the Obama administration and members of Congress that it will sell off hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of American assets held by the kingdom if Congress passes a bill that would allow the Saudi government to be held responsible in American courts for any role in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, reports NYT.

According to NYT, Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi foreign minister, delivered the kingdom’s message personally last month during a trip to Washington, telling lawmakers that Saudi Arabia would be forced to sell up to $750 billion in treasury securities and other assets in the United States before they could be in danger of being frozen by American courts.

Criminal: Former US State Department Official to Buy Ukraine's Largest Telecom Company

This is just about as insane and open of an inside look, as to how US empire operators grab the spoils of their interventions that result in turmoil, that you are ever likely to get.

As is clear, the US played an important role in the Ukrainian revolution as revealed by the release of a recording of a phone call between Assistant US Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and US Ambassador to the Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt (SEE: An Important Second Listen to the "F--k the EU" Ukraine Recording).

But, Nuland isn't the only US State Department official playing a major role in Ukraine.
