Col. Lawrence Wilkerson: How to Avoid War Over Ukraine

Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, speaking with Chris Hayes on MSNBC this week, details steps the United States government can take to avoid war over Ukraine. Wilkerson suggests:
Ukraine needs to be a buffer state between what is now an alliance that Russia hates -- NATO -- and a country that NATO has a problem with -- Russia… Crimea needs to be exactly where it is -- with Russia where it has been for over 350 years. And we need to stop the passionate statements and get down to business and work this out. We don’t need a war.

Judge Napolitano: Congress and CIA Relationship at 'Turning Point'

Speaking with Neil Cavuto on Fox Business, Judge Andrew Napolitano predicts that Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) strong reaction to Central Intelligence Agency snooping on the Senate Intelligence Committee she chairs “is a turning point in the relationship between the CIA and the United States Congress.”

This change of heart of “the biggest cheerleader, the strongest supporter, and arguably the most powerful member of Congress in support of the intelligence community,” says RPI Advisory Board Member Napolitano, puts Feinstein on a “collision course” with CIA Director John O. Brennan.

Dennis Kucinich and Lawrence Wilkerson Expose US Role in Creating Ukraine Crisis

Breaking through the mainstream media’s suppression of contrary voices regarding the Ukraine crisis, RPI advisors Dennis Kucinich and Lawrence Wilkerson this week expose, on Fox News and MSNBC respectively, the United States government’s role in creating the crisis.

Kucinich, who served eight terms in the United States House of Representatives and ran for president as a Democrat, pushes past host Bill O’Reilly’s interruptions to state a few sentences of analysis

Ron Paul Reports Ukraine Story the Mainstream Media is Suppressing

RPI Chairman and Founder Ron Paul, over at the Ron Paul Channel, reports this week in a 14 minutes video the story behind the conflict in Ukraine. Paul also criticizes biases in how mainstream television programs cover the conflict, saying “they're part of the banking system, they're part of the military-industrial complex, they're part of an educational system that endorses perpetual intervention overseas.” The full video is viewable without the subscription usually required for Ron Paul Channel videos.

In the video, Paul notes the hypocrisy of the United States government condemning Russia for violating Ukraine sovereignty while the United States has been invading countries, taking sides in revolutionary conflicts including in Ukraine, and interfering in elections around the world. Paul notes that, while many people around the world recognize this hypocrisy, “the propaganda here, in order to get the American people satisfied, is to say ‘they are the bad guys and we are the angels’”

Obama Promises 'Prudent Limits' on Drone Killings, Delivers Death by Unreliable Metadata

No wonder President Barack Obama has cloaked in secrecy his administration’s justifications for ordering “targeted killings,” including through the use of drones. Jeremy Scahill and Glenn Greenwald report in First Look’s "The Intercept" today that kill orders in the drones program are based on National Security Agency electronic surveillance analysis that is inherently misleading, easily foiled by targeted individuals, and necessarily causes the death and injury of unidentified, non-targeted people.

This shoddy kill order process is far from what people would reasonably think Obama was promising when he said in his January 28 State of the Union speech that, “I’ve imposed prudent limits on the use of drones.” In contrast to that promise, Scahill and Greenwald report a former drone operator’s conclusion that, “the drone program amounts to little more than death by unreliable metadata.”

Targeted Killings and Obama’s Secret Legal Memoranda

Like the George W. Bush Administration before it that sought to use secret legal memoranda to legitimize heinous treatment of prisoners, the Obama Administration appears to be using questionable and secret legal memoranda in an attempt to justify expanded presidential powers, including the power to use drones for “targeted killings.”

Judge Andrew Napolitano, talking this week with host Megyn Kelly on Fox News, explains how the Obama administration is employing this tactic:
