Writing in The Hill newspaper, Bernie Quigley points out what could have been, had RPI Chairman Ron Paul been successful in his 2012 run for the presidency. He also points out that the original Tea Party was a very different animal from what it became after being hacked by rapacious Republlican politicos:
"Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) said that if he won the nomination for president he would choose former Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a Democrat from Ohio, for his VP. It would have been an interesting choice, as both Paul and Kucinich were brave when it was time to be brave, and although Tea Party today is considered a grass-roots, state-based conservative uprising, it started well back into the George W. Bush administration."Although we are not engaged in politics in any form here, one cannot help but ponder what might have been. Luckily for all of us, Dr. Paul and Mr. Kucinich found a way to get together after all -- here at the Ron Paul Institute!
Mr. Kucinich is not only a highly valued member of the RPI board of advisors, he was a compelling and moving participant in the press conference that launched the Institute just over a month ago.
